Goethe's Colour Wheel 1810
Debra Dickinson, founder of Dickinson Fine Art Conservation and Restoration, treats traditional easel paintings, murals, and polychrome objects. Her practice spans Old Master Renaissance paintings, Spanish Colonial Art and American Art, including contemporary works.
Ms. Dickinson received her training at the Rhode Island School of Design's prestigious European Honors Program where she conducted extensive research in Old Master paintings of the Renaissance era, as well as the care and maintenance of museum collections. Additionally, she worked at the Williamstown Art Conservation Center in Williamstown, Massachusetts. There, she treated paintings belonging to more than 20 affiliated museums throughout the Northeast United States.
Ms. Dickinson brings a unique orientation and sensibility to art conservation by combining her extensive museum experience acquired in both Italy and the United States. Her goal is to allow paintings to uphold their proper place in time and history while retaining the desired character that comes with age, ensuring they don’t appear newly created, and further unveiling the artist’s intended brilliance.
